mimimimosa

Inspired by a passion for vintage 50s and 70s prints, mimimimosa designer Emy Gargiulo researches and designs 2-D patterns, transforming them into distinctive 3-D accessories.
The versatile pieces recall vibrant mid-century bakelite jewelry but are emphatically modern.

Each design is the result of a process of deconstruction of rich, bold and decorative elements reduced to basic concepts of color and mass.

The reflective surfaces are woven with fabric ribbon so the connecting structure integrates totally into the design.

It also allows for juxtaposing soft and solid materials, capturing fluid forms in acrylic to create unexpected, bold pieces that can be worn as necklaces, bracelets and belts.

Founded in 2004, mimimimosa collaborated with Anna Sui on her runway presentation during New York Fashion Week in 2005 and has been featured in The New York Times, Teen Vogue, and the MoMA catalog, among others.
