about the designer
Emy Gargiulo's work reflects her diverse background.
Growing up in Italy, Gargiulo was influenced by her family’s sensitivity for art and design. Inspired by the natural beauty of her surroundings, she began to channel her creative interests at an early age. She moved to New York after receiving a Master in Architecture at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design. She also has a background in graphic design, painting and photography.
In 2004 Gargiulo founded her fashion accessories collection, mimimimosa, using a childhood nickname. The Museum of Modern Art store immediately carried the collection for several years, including prominently featuring it in their catalog.
